Today I have discovered some useful websites which are not specific to any topics which I have been asked to look at but I feel may help when I come to do some more research for further teaching resources and further topics:
http://www.standards.dfes.gov.uk/schemes2/secondary_history/?view=get (a website which gives you an overview of some of the history units which are taught to child at secondary level and for each section it gives you some ideas on how to teach certain topics)
http://www.bbc.co.uk/learning/subjects/history.shtml (a useful link page which shows you a number of history learning pages)
http://www.schoolhistory.co.uk/ (a useful website where teaching resources have been uploaded for a number of secondary topics)
http://history.oakham.rutland.sch.uk/body_1.htm#BDeath and https://vle.oakham.rutland.sch.uk/course/category.php?id=2 (a school website which gives some useful links to year 7 history topics as well to history teaching resources)
http://www.eyewitnesstohistory.com/mefrm.htm ( a website which gives eyewitness accounts of some historical characters and individuals from different historical periods)
http://www.thinkinghistory.co.uk/Index.html (a useful website which gives you some teaching resources for different historical topics)
http://www.slideshare.net/ (a site where you are able to search for powerpoint presentations and slideshows on almost any historical topic)
http://www.spartacus.schoolnet.co.uk/ (gives some useful basic summaries on topics and also if you search for specific topics it gives you further teaching resource links)
This list is not exhausted with history resources and information on topics but will hopefully help to give me as well as others some places to visit to start researching topics.
Hi K. These are great, thanks for posting them.
